File 2005.04: Wiedmer v. Chrysler
Case Type: Product Liability
Description:
A case involving the severe failure of a vehicle seat latch during a rear and side impact collision. The impact caused the hatch of the Jeep to fly off while the latch securing the rear seat back to the frame of the vehicle also gives way. The seat back falls backward ejecting the occupant out the hatch and into on-coming traffic.
Visualizations Produced:
Using digital photogrammetry, Fearless Eye constructed an exemplar vehicle and the accident vehicles interior and exterior details. Animations were then created showing the seat latch failure.
