File 2004.06: Shipman v. Hallmark Inn

Case Type: Personal Injury

Description:
An elderly woman staying in the Hallmark Inn exited her motel room at night and walked off of a four foot retaining wall into the parking lot. The ledge had no railing or signs and at night it was difficult to tell that it wasn't just a step down to the ground.

Visualizations Produced:
Fearless Eye visited the site of the accident and took panoramic photos of the location during different times of the day in order to determine if the ledge was more visible during the day or at night. The motel and parking lot were then constructed in 3D and the lighting was adjusted to match the photos at different times of day allowing the jury to see what the victim saw as she was exiting her room.
