File 2008.03: Paulsell v. New Orleans DOT
Case Type: Motorcycle Accident
Description:
A motorcycle traveling on a poorly lit curvy road lost control, throwing the passenger head first into a speed limit sign.
Visualizations Produced:
Using photos taken at the scene, Fearless Eye modeled the site of the accident in 3D, placed signage and foliage according to photos and the motorcycle traveling the speed limit.
Due to an odd intersection and the poor lighting, it appeared that the road continued straight when it actually curved sharply to the right. Fearless Eye then added, reflective markers to the road striping, a single street light at the intersection, and multiple street lights around the curve to illustrate how any action on the part of the Department of Transportation would've made that intersection less hazardous.
