File 1994.13: Los Angeles Coliseum

Case Type: Architectural Failure / Construction

Description:
An earthquake struck Los Angeles in 1993 and caused significant damage to the landmark facility and home of the then Los Angeles Raiders. Municipal tax support was being sought to finance repairs.

Visualizations Produced:
From CADD data provided by Architects HNTB, Fearless Eye constructed a 3D model of the L.A. Coliseum including underground superstructures. A sequence of 3D animations was designed illustrating the foundation repair project over time highlighting each of the major engineering components. The animations were distributed in the Los Angeles area media to shore up taxpayer support, helping to ensure satisfactory completion of the project.
