File 2009.05: Kidwell v. City of Independence
Case Type: Land Use - Imminent Domain
Description:
Plaintiff claimed that the extension of Little Blue Parkway by the City of Independence would land-lock his property and force him to purchase large amounts of fill dirt to make his land usable for development. Defense claimed that this would not be the case.
Visualizations Produced:
Contours of the existing terrain, as well as elevations and cross-sections for the new roads were obtained and modeled into 3D. Aerial photos, CADD documents, property outlines, right of way outlines, easements and uneconomic remnants were then applied to the terrain illustrating that the Plaintiff's property is not land-locked, nor would he need to purchase any additional fill dirt to develop his land due to it's pre-existing slope.
