File 2008.09: Frederick v. Swift Trucking
Case Type: Semi-Truck Collision with Another Semi-Truck
Description:
A semi-truck who misjudged the angle of a rest stop entrance reversed into the highway and failed to yield to an oncoming semi-truck. The two vehicles hit, killing the driver of the truck with the right of way.
Visualizations Produced:
Based on evidence and reaction times from our expert, three exhibits were created graphing the amount of time the driver of the truck with the right of way needed to avoid collision. Unfortunately, there was not enough time for the driver to react before striking the reversing semi-truck.
