File 2003.14: Clark v. Belfonte Distributing Inc.

Case Type: Vehicle Accident / Spinal Injury

Description:
A rear-impact vehicle case involving a moving truck and an automobile waiting at a stop light. Driver of the stationary automobile suffered spinal injuries. Sight distance, reaction time, and braking ability were among the issues of contention.

Phase 1, Pre-Visualization, Measurement for Vehicle Impact:
From county site surveys and supporting photography, 3D scenes were constructed to represent site topography including grade variance around the accident location. Accurate 3D models of both vehicles were produced.

Phase 2, Visualizations Produced:
According to traffic engineering expert analysis concerning vehicle velocity and braking, Fearless Eye produced 3D animations of the impact.

Phase 3, Pre-Visualization, Medical Analysis:
Fearless Eye produced a 3D model of the lower lumbar region of the human skeleton.

Phase 4, Visualizations and Virtual Environment, Medical Analysis:
A 360 Degree 3D Virtual Environment was designed for presentation by counsel. The viewer had the ability to rotate around the spinal model in 3D space for optimum orientation and understanding of counsel's medical expert opinions.
Several linear 3D animations were produced as well.
