File 2004.13: Brooktrout v. Eicon

Case Type: Patent Infringement

Description:
A PCI computer board was developed with the capabilities to allow the computer to have a built-in fax machine, scanner and modem for an all-in-one approach.

Visualizations Produced:
It was argued that the PCI board infringed on another patent because it incorporated a faxing ability that another company claimed to own. A presentation was developed depicting how although the new board had faxing abilities, it did not infringe on the prior patent.
