File 2009.20: Bohannan v. Baader Johnson Foods

Case Type: Personal Injury

Description:
A woman cleaning equipment at night at a Tyson Foods plant failed to disengage the machine from the line before reaching into the moving device. The machine was intended to remove the heads of chickens for processing and happened to grab the employee's smock as she reached in to remove a piece of skin, badly injuring her hand.

Visualizations Produced:
After both laser scanning and receiving a solid model of the equipment in question and traveling to a working Tyson plant to see a similar machine in action. Accurate 3D models of the device and other components involved in the accident were produced using the laser scan, solid model, photographs and measurements. Animations were produced to illustrate the experts testimony of what happened the day of the accident and how it could have been prevented.
