Description:
A case involving the misuse of a steel press that projected a large metal tool at the user, resulting in his death. The user placed an extra, offset, piece of metal between the press ram and the nose spring he was trying to collapse. Under the pressure of the press ram, the offset metal was projected through the air and struck the user in the head.
Visualizations Produced:
Accurate 3D models of the press and other components involved in the accident were produced using photographs and measurements. Animations were produced to illustrate the experts testimony of what happened the day of the accident and how it could have been prevented.
