File 2008.02: Beach v. Diagnostic Imaging et al
Case Type: Medical
Description:
A woman lived for years with breast cancer that went undetected despite regular mammograms that exhibit an obviously growing mass. The mass was finally caught after four years of visibility, but by that time the mass had grown large enough to leave her breast and invade the rest of her body.
Visualizations Produced:
A demonstrative animation was created using pathology images to show the growth of the invasive mass from 1993-1997, as well as many exhibit boards illustrating the evidence of the cancer through the years it went undetected by comparing years of mammograms to one another as a radiologist would.
